Submission Guidelines

Last page update: May 17, 2022

Dear authors,
Thank you again for submitting your manuscript to the
3rd International Workshop on Empowering People in Dealing with Internet of Things Ecosystems (EMPATHY).
As anticipated, all accepted papers that will be discussed at the workshop will be submitted to CEUR-WS.org for online publication.

Thus, for completing the procedure we kindly ask you to:

Prepare your manuscript

  • Edit your manuscript taking into account the reviewers' comments and the feedback you received at the workshop.
    • The minimum length of a CEUR paper should be 5 pages, with approximately 2500 characters (= 380-400 words) per page.
  • Prepare the final version in LaTeX or MS Word using the CEURART 1-column template:
    • LaTeX users can find the template here and on Overleaf:
      • This template is read-only. To create your own editable copy, click on the menu icon (top left corner) and select “copy project”.
Alternatively, you can select “download source”.
    • MS Word users can find the template here

Sign the author agreement

  • Fill in and sign the author agreement to publish as open-access on CEUR-WS.org. Please sign the form by hand on paper and send us a scanned copy.
    In particular:
    • Authors shall use this form if they included no copyrighted third party material in their paper text (or accompanying sources, datasets). This is the right variant in most cases.
    • Instead, authors shall use this form if they did include copyrighted third party material in their paper or accompanying material. They must then also attach a copy of the permission by the third party to use this material in the signed author agreement!
  • If you are unable to print and scan the agreement form, you can fill it in on your computer and place a hand-signed statement below the form and then take a photo of it, as illustrated in this example:

Send us your manuscript

  • Send us the camera-ready version of your paper in PDF format and the signed agreement form via email.

    Deadline: May 23, 2022
Please notice that:
  • Papers will only be included in the proceedings if we receive their final versions and the corresponding agreement by the above-mentioned deadline.
  • CEUR-WS.org requires all the submissions to fulfill a few formal rules, e.g., regarding the minimum volume size. Should we fail to meet such requirements, we reserve the opportunity to consider alternative courses of action.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
